I live in Gilbert, it’s directly south of Mesa. My friend’s dad caters to all the networks that film in Burbank and when I went to California to visit her, he got us on the set. We didn’t have to take a tour we just got to walk around and see whatever we wanted to see! It was awesome. The actors from Gilmore Girls were on location while we were there, and they were supposed to come back to the set within the hour that we were there, but they didn’t and we had to leave so we didn’t get to see them, which was a major disappointment! But it was still great to actually see Stars Hollow.

Stars Hollow isn’t an actual town, it is just a set on the WB lot in Burbank, CA. The buildings aren’t real, there are no backs to the buildings, it’s just the front of them facing into the town, so it looks real. It’s a very involved set so walking around feels like you are actually in a town, but really you aren’t. It’s just a set, people don’t live there. It didn’t cost for me because my friend’s dad got us on the set through some people he knows that work there, but I think there are tours you can take that cost.

That’s like totally awesome. I’m going to take the tour this October for my birthday. I’m just hoping they’ll still be taping at that time, and while we are there. That would make my year. 🙂

Wow, just found this website and your pics are great! We live about 40 miles from Burbank, it would be fun to catch a tour of the studio lot and discover Stars Hollow. I wonder if any other shows are filmed there at the moment??
