Okay first. Okay back when Lorelei and Rory weren’t talking, Luke waited for things to be right between them before they set a wedding date, and he waited without complaining. So why couldn’t Lorelei wait for things to be right between April and Luke? He waited for her why can’t she just wait for him? She is being selfish. I love Lorelei but I think she is making a huge mistake.

Oh and I’m not sure about this new writer, it just didn’t feel like Gilmore Girls. Maybe it’ll get better, I hope.

I have to agree with Vintage212 in saying that Lorelai is making a huge mistake.

I’ve been a regular viewer of the series since the end of season 4 and have seen all of the episodes at least twice except for the sixth season episodes (but I have seen them all). I’m a recent listener to the podcast and love it very much!! However, I have an enitrely different paradigm on the Luke and Lorelai relationship. I’ve been waiting to go through some key episodes to actually document some evidence for my view, but I think this’ll be sufficient enough for some to at least reopen thier minds on their relationship. Is Luke innocent? No of course not, but I don’t think he’s the one to take the blame.

When noted on this podcast that one of the best Lorelai moments was when she gave Luke the ultimatum I was greatly disturbed. You know they say you shouldn’t drive if you’re too depressed or even too happpy or excited? People don’t always think rationally when they’re letting their emotions override logic. I’ve always thought Lorelai has always been the one dragging the relationship down. When they first broke up, who said they were broken up? Lorelai did before Luke had had anyword on the matter. When Luke went over to Lorelai’s house after she left the phone message on his machine Lorelai says she’ll respect his feelings. Luke just said he needed time to think things through and at that particular time he thought he couldn’t handle it. It was Lorelai who then came to the realization that they were over and she was the one who declared they were over. Luke doesn’t like to be pushed around and I think his actions revolving around the boat and the Fiddler on the Roof play show that he was really hurt and his way of defending himself was by being passive aggressive with Lorelai. Unlike anyone else when he is pure aggressive. This is probably Luke being lead by his emotions and not thinking rationally. I think Luke actually matured in season 6. He was ready to tell Lorelai that he had a daughter. Except Loreali was on cloud nine at the time. He knew full well that with Lorelai feeling such emotion she could have easily crashed when she heard the news. Loreali is awfully emotional. She often arrives at her beliefs by emotions of the past. Remember when she got drunk at Lane’s wedding and says she’ll never be married? She often expects the worst which just drags her down. When she talks with the psychiatrist or psychologist, you guys described that as the Palladinos talking to the audience. I don’t believe that to be the case at all. The doctor is talking to Lorelai. The vast majority of the audience wants desperately for Luke and Lorelai to end up together. It may not happen. Remember when Amy says she knows what the final scene of the series should be? It’s going to end with Rory on top of the world. Rory is stuck in the middle of two opposite sides of the spectrum here. Lorelai on the one side who lives her life on emotion and the grandparents who live in a highly structured life. If I had to guess, I would say Luke and Lorelai would end up together. They would get together because Rory would somehow be able to set an example for them.

loreali is my favorite charachter! her sarcasm always makes me laugh and I love how she always is talking about movies and is up to date on everything. she is such a “cool” mom, and i would love to have her as mine!! rory is so lucky! loreali is awesome and loves to have a good time! i love how shes like staying at home in her p.j.s eating aton of food and watching movies, but at the same time loves dressing up and going out with guys! she and rory are so close its so nice! i love how this show portrays a mom who had her kid at 16, because i don’t know of another show that does that! it makes the g.g. so much better! also, loreali and luke make the most peerfect couple in the world! they are amazing together and complement each other. and they both really love each other and that’s why it’s so sad to see them part. from the first episode luke has loved loreali and finally after 9 years of waiting, they are together and engaged and he has to screw it up. many people think it’s loreali’s fault, but its not. luke was a loser by not telling loreali about april, and not seeing how sad she was about canceling june 3 and not letting her visit april, becuase he knows that she’ll just like loreali more (which is a stupid reason). mind you though, i have always loved luke. i always new some day they would be together and i pictured the last episode of loreali and luke getting married under the chupah he made her for max, in a flashback of that episode where they stood under it together. i love that episode! i just wish that they could be togehter again!

david and alicia – i love your podcast! im the biggst g.g. fan and i listen to ur podcast every night! thnaks so much for everything u do!
