I was kind of hopeful that things would turn out with the new writers, but this episode was the last straw. Before the season wasn’t that terrible, but these last two episodes just disappoinited me.
The Gilmore Girls are in danger of losing their flavor!

Good podcast. I hated the episode. Except the Lane and Zach moments because I can’t believe they are having twins! That is nuts.

Your Ae story made me laugh so hard. Alicia, what would you have said if one of the aerie girls were there? It would have been pretty funny I’m sure.

Can’t wait until the next episode. Oh and is it just me or can anyone else not hear the spoiler warning music?

Why??????? Why did they marry them at the end of the show???? NOOOOOOO! I expected LG to freak out and fly back to Stars Hollow and return to Luke!! And, what the heck happened in Paris? There was no meat to that storyline.

Rory’s meltdown was great, and I appreciated the friends commiserating with her – BUT “BOYFRIEND”! Puhleeeze!!!! That part was LAME!

The Lane and Zach moments are what kept me from throwing my shoe at the T.V. With ‘like’ and ‘boyfriend’ being said every five seconds, I felt like I was losing IQ points. Lucy and Oliva are like Madeline and Louise on Prozac! Marty is an immature jerk. And, oh please, Chris, we know you’re rich, but are you that stupid that you didn’t think to buy out a place before you actually did? Time loops, come on, writers, I know you can do better than that.

Loved the podcast on the episode, but I wasn’t crazy about the episode.

    Great episode you guys.

I have to agree with you. French Twist was one of the not-so-good episodes of GG. It was just…boring, aside from the Lane and Zach stuff. I really hope the new writers snap out of it soon.

ok ppl, dont kill me, but i personally thought that the lst couple episodes werent that bad. I dont love any of them or anything, dont even really like them, but they werent bad enough to wreck GG. I dont really like chris either, but at the end of S6, i didnt like luke either. I do agree that Lorelai and Chris gettin married was RIDICULUS tho. I also think that Lucy and Olivia are kinda fun after Paris. (person lol)

i no i just kinda contradicted everything Dave and Alicia said, and all of the other comments on this episode. SRY. just my opinion.

I actually am enjoying this season — I like the relationship between Chris and Lorelai — change is inevitable — I think we need to get passed “the new writers” issue and enjoy the show.

i just have to say that the last couple episodes have been crap, and if i were a viewer just starting to watch the show i would stop, but i’m too addicted. so the new writers are lucky that amy and dan had so many people hooked before they quit…or else i think GG would lose a lot of viewers
(french twist was INSANELY HORRIBLE, except the opening scene was cute!)
keep on keepin’ on. xo ERIKA

okay so this might sound really crazy, but i was just thinking… what if the new writers end up having chris and lorelai get a divorce, and lorelai ends up with luke after all.. this way no one would wonder what would have happened if chris and lorelai had gotten married, but she would still end up with luke.. just a thought, probably not going to happen, it would be lots of drama! but if this is the last season, thats a lot to cram in…

I’m sorry if Dave & Alicia already mentioned this in the podcast episode about Matt Czuchry, but he’s in a movie called A Midsummer Night’s Rave. My sister got the movie from Blockbuster (not because of him 🙂 ) and I was looking on the back and I saw a picture of him, and his name in the credits. Once again, sorry if you already mentioned this, but it surprised me and I just wanted people to know if they already didn’t.

one more thing this is it as alicia mentioned in the podcast the part where lorelai says if they weren’t open at eleven why would they be open now well i think it was because when they were out walking for the ‘hour’ (i noticed that too) they walked past that resteraunt and looked at the little thing on the door that says the times and it closes at eleven but im not posative

About the most recent episode, maybe it’s just me but I thought it was a bit of a dud. It was slightly better then the most recent episodes but (Ithink you guys discused this in one of your podcasts) everything got resolved in one episode, once again. They have to pro-long the drama!

Did anyone else find it extremely annoying when Luke kept calling April ‘sweetie’? It seemed really forced and out of character.

Also just a thought, it is easy to point the blame at the new writers, but there were many times that in the first 6 seasons writing not always being up to par. The beginning of season four when Rory first goes off to yale had its iffy moments and I remember many people not liking it.

Em, if your talking about the episode with April going to the hospital, I agree with you. It was better then the previous ones, but everything got resolved at the end. They should of had Lorelai and Rory resolve things in the next episode. UGH! And Chris was such a jerk for moving Rory’s things out! I was happy that Lorelai told him to stop and ask Rory first. I really wanted to punch him in the face for that.

What happened to Rory’s pink hair in the new episode? Costume error?

Yeah, Catherine, my friend and I were just talking about that… it was so weird. It actually caused me to focus more on the word ‘sweetie’ and less on the scene. It just was very out of character.

I don’t think that this season on a whole is bad. I do think, however, that there have been some bad episodes. Also, people, please stop blaming the writers, they have to first dig out of the hole that ASP left the show in. Once they do that, then I’m sure that the season will get better. I still like this season better than season 6.

Unfortunatly I have to disagree with most of you. I have loved Gilmore Girls since the day it started. I still have that little thing goes off in my mind on Tuedays that makes me excited and after work I hurry home so I can watch the episodes. Gilmore Girls is near the end I agree, but so far its the best I have seen it yet. I give two thumbs up for the creativity and ‘modernized’ wit that the writers have brought into the show. I love the show.

I am very very disappointed with the way that this season is going. I have been a loyal Gilmore Girls fan since day one, and as this season goes on, it is very hard to continue watching. Over the past few days i watched episodes from the first 3 seasons and they were GREAT. the plot was better and deep, the characters were richer, the scene changes were more sophisticated and the music added a nice touch. I think that this new season lacks all of the things that make people love Gilmore Girls, and if the directors and writers do not realize this and make changes, they will find that many people will stop watching. Does anyone else feel this way?

I really loved this episode, but I’m someone who actually likes Lorelai and Christopher together. It’s hard to explain, but I just do. I love the way this season is going, and I wish that Lorelai and Christopher stay together. So, I’m a traditionalist and want Rory’s parents to be together.

I personally preferred Luke and Lorelai to just be friends.

And I long ago gave up on time issues in TV shows that don’t make sense, because a lot of times writers on numerous shows do not take that into consideration for whatever reason, so the whole “time” thing didn’t bother me like it did for you, Alicia. If you think too hard about it, it makes you mad, but if you let it go and just enjoy, you get to enjoy. I enjoyed.

A lot of people think this season is “jumping the shark” i disagree. Gilmore Girl, yes, is wayy different, and the episodes this season have not been THE greatest but, didnt the things that have happened so far need to? Lorelai NEEDED to make an advance in her love life. Rory NEEEDED some new people to hang out with. Lane NEEDED something to happen in her life after marriage to Zach. If Lorelai and Luke had made up the day after, Logan took the next plane back to conneticut, Lane and Zach immediately hit it big with their music, why would we need to watch it if everything worked out? we would know what would happen! Yes, i do agree some of the new more PERMANENT changes to basically suck but still, can we reall just abandon the show we have known and loved for so long? And yes, we all expected there to b changes with new writers so, are you really all surprised? A lot of episodes are fluff, and things seem so light that they resolve themselvevs in one episdoe but still, Rory and Lorelai are still the smart, driven, funny women we fell in love with 7 years ago and for most TRUE gilmore girls fans that should be enough. Love the Podcast!
