Well……..i’m not so happy w/ the finaly… i just thought it was rushed and could have been better. What i don’t get is if they didn’t even know that it would be the SERIES finlly why would they make it go full circle and have that last scene like the pilot, i just don’t get it.

I thought the finale was pointless. And does anyone else remember how ASP had said that she had the whole final scene planned out and that it was SO good? Was that it? Was her great plan what we saw in the series finale? Because if it was, how disappointing!

I agree with you, Vintage. I was surprised that was the ‘great’ final scene that ASP wrote. I thought that the finale was okay in general, but if that WAS the ending that ASP wrote and everyone was anxious for, it was extremely disappointing and lame. I hope that if Dave & Alicia get around to making a final podcast they talk about this and what they thought about it.

ASP didn’t write that final scene. No one even asked her what she wanted the last four words to be. Remember, ASP originally wanted the series to end with Rory’s graduation from Yale. Maybe if she was still the writer, we would have had more closure.

I am 100% sad that the show is over. I thought I was going to bawl during the last episode, but it just didn’t pull at any of the heart strings in me. There were so many unanswered questions, that they could have made another entire episode out of. Like, do Luke and Lorelei get back together for good? How does Rory do on her first press job? And does she meet another guy that is great for her?

    I just feel really jipped.

I was thouroughly disapointed in the finalle!! It wasn’t anything that I had wanted. After seven years of devotion and loving this series it ends like that. I was so upset. I still cried at parts, but it wasn’t as much as it rightfully should be. We have no clue about Rory and her love life, or if she gets on a bus and dies, or if Lorelai and Like are ever together forever and ahh there’s just so much left unsaid. I was thinking that maybe Rory and Logan should have just done the long distance thing because that way we could have some ideas that ‘Well maybe they made it’ sort of things but even that, I want more. I was really wanting a Rory/Lorelai good bye scene at the end. Sort of like our good bye to them you know, but that never even happened. I did however like the VERY last bit how the ending was the same as the ending of the first episode ever. That was a nice touch but still. Ahh super makes me mad to think about it.

omg i hate that the series ended it really sucks. i agree with all of you that we really got jipped. honestly i just wish that rory and logan got married or at least stayed togethor cuz that would have answered a lot of my questions. these are 2 girls that we’ve been watching for 7 seasons so i for one expected to find out how they end up living. where rory ends up staying to live? who does she end up with? do luke and loreli end up married? i mean honsetly it definetly was not the time for the show to end. there should have been one more season that didnt open any new drama but that just finished the old. i mean really with a show like this there is never a good time to finish but this was definetly not the time. i just dont think they did it justice. my wish is that they make a spin off that eithor fallows loreli or rory maybe then id be happy.

OMG, that movie has to be made. I wanna know ASP last 4 words, and I want a really good ending. An ending were Rory and Logan actually is a couple, because I was not pleased with how they ended that realationship. Who are they trying to kid? I really don’t think Logan would say all or nothing to something he cares so much about. He tried to win Rory back every time he lost her.
I did cry in some of the scenes in the last episode, maybe because I knew all the time that this was it, this was the end.
And what’s up with Luke and Lorelai? I guess they get married or something (I saw the look they gave eachother in the last scene at the diner), but how can we know for sure that’s going to happen?
No, I need to know ASP!!!
But isn’t it a litle heard building on a show when ASP did not see anything of the last season? I’m just wondering..

I was not really thrilled with Gilmore Girls series finaly. I mean… THERE ARE NO OTHER EPISODES LEFT!! They left us on a cliffhanger with Luke and Lorelai AND Rory and Logan. They are, tho, setting Gilmore Girls up for a movie because of the cliffhangers. I hope they do a movie because I don’t think that the producers would just have the last scene be the start of a new relastionship for Luke and Lorelai, right? Also, in a podcast I heard that original producer, Amy Sherman-Pallidino (sorry for the speeling mistakes) had written the last episode. Was this the ending she had planned or did the new producer write this?

You know, considering the real Gilmore Girls ended when ASP left, (I never thought the 7th season was as good as the rest), the series ended well. For screwing up what should have happened with all the characters, the new writers ended it right. It is supposed to be assumed that Luke and Lorelai get together and whether or not they get married, at least we know they are together. And the whole Rory and Logan thing: most young girls these days do not get married right after college. Rory had a dream to be a reporter and to some girls, those dreams are more important than getting married. I personally think she should have stayed with Logan, but with Rory’s entire history of wanting to be a journalist, this ending was right.

Rory wanted to stay with Logan and try long distanse again, but Logan told her it was all or nothing. She didn’t want to break up, Logan did and that does not fit with what he has done earlier, when he tried to get her back both times they had a fight and broke up. Now I’m just repeting myself (post 11), but these are my thoughts.

Hoping for GG movie SOOO bad!!!

Thanx Emily for being one of the only TRUE Gilmore Girls FANS!!! ASP did not, i repeat, DID NOT!! write the finale episode. .. .a new writer stepped in at the beginning or actually the end of the 6th season. . .dont badmouth ASP!!! she is a great writer and she made the show what it was. . .i was very sad to see her go and it was a bit painfull to watch the later episodes without her. . it was missing something……

I didnt really like the end.. I mean it was good that Lorelai and Luke got together in the end but I didnt like the fact that Rory left, I have the feeling she wont make it on her own. The last season was OK but very different because Amy left. I miss gilmore girls also the podcast!! I loveeed the podcast!!

well i became a fan after the show ended and watched on abc family. I am now OBSESSED with the show and LOVE your podcast!! For christmas i recieved season 7 and was soo excited to watch it since that was the only one i hadnt seen!! I was amazingly dissapointed with the finale, nothing really got resolved she was back to where she was in the beginning of the show. I also hate how logan and rory ended it was so sad ! i felt as if we had watched all those episodes for all those years, and we have seen both the girls go through all the men drama and now i feel that that was somewhat a waste. I hope that the gilmore girls movie does come out, this was a great show and deserves a great ending

    a loyal listener

roxixrox177 , I completely agree. My story is very similar to yours:
I am a new fan of Gilmore Girls. I started watching it on Family Channel one day and after that I was hooked. I would love to be able to watch new episodes for once, because I never had that experience! I received the complete series for Christmas, and I had no idea that ASP hadn’t written season seven. I watched the first episode of season seven and I thought to myself “something seems different” After watching about 4 episodes I had to take a break- something I had never done with GG before. I said “This is different! This isn’t the same show I fell in love with! What did they do with the real Gilmore Girls?” my family told me I was crazy, to shut up and watch it. When Chris and Lor married, I screamed and turned it off. When they broke up, I smiled. And when Luke and Lorelai kissed..well…let’s just say I was overly happy. Later, when looking online, I discovered that my suspicions were right- season seven was different, it had a different writer. (let’s just say my fam got some major “I told you so’s”) The ending was acceptable for a season ending but not for a series finale! What happens with Rory? We all know that she can’t survive without Lorelai! What about Luke and Lorelai? Do they finally marry and have kids like we’ve begged them to since season 1? We need answers!

Hi, im from Australia and the 7th season only came out on DVD (only up to like the 4th season was on TV) in April. then i found your site i have been meaning to leave a coment for months so now i am.

The gilmore girls is the best show! but i loved listening to your podcast! i think that you should take some time off work and record a long one with the rest of the 7th season episodes! I admit the last season was not as good or atleast it wasnt the same, but i know you would have watched them!
